Application Software Engineers x 2 - Fixed Term

Our client has an immediate requirement for a seasoned professional Software Developer with 3+ years commercial experience to join their enterprise government entity in Wellington who are transitioning from Oracle to Microsoft Azure.  Your role will involve working with the development team and developing API’s and interfaces to complement their existing Enterprise System Business Applications on their new platform. 
 
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following skillsets and experience;
  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant software development experience
• Proven experience building REST API's for commercial software application integrations using Azure APIM (must have) and accessing Oracle Data
• Proven experience in API testing, preferably with Azure APIM and Oracle SOA
• Proficiency in using testing tools such as Postman, GITHUB and Azure DevOps
• Strong understanding of API protocols (REST, SOAP) and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Experience with configuring and using CI/CD Pipelines
• Proficiency in testing at data, systems, and UI levels
• Prior experience with Postman, SoapUI tools is a MUST HAVE
