New Zealand is experiencing a significant shortage of skilled people within the workforce and unemployment has just hit a 37-year low. COVID has exacerbated pre-existing issues such as the changing nature of work and the rapid digitalisation of capability. We are also seeing trends such as “the great resignation” where organisational loyalty and tenure is being significantly tested. For our organisations to survive and prosper we need to create pipelines of skilled talent and we need to better understand our risks of losing key resources’.
